Experience with complex applications, integrations, and data

My projects range from new apps and web applications to internal tools and public-sector systems, as well as integrations, migrations, and ongoing operations. What matters is not a preferred technology, but the problem that needs to be solved reliably.

New development and modernisation of a public-sector case management application

Anonymised case study · Public administration

A public-sector application supports the digital processing of applications and cases, manages documents and domain data, and connects internal workflows with external systems and registers. The project combined the targeted modernisation of existing components with the development of new functionality.

Working in a small team, I was responsible for full-stack and backend development, interfaces and data integration, as well as technical leadership and coordination tasks. I also supported the system’s ongoing development and handled complex issues in 3rd-level support.

The solution reduces manual work, makes processing faster and more transparent, and improves the application’s stability, maintainability, and extensibility.

Migrating data from Oracle to RavenDB during ongoing operations

Anonymised case study · Database modernisation

As part of modernising an existing application, data had to be moved from a relational Oracle database to a document-oriented RavenDB model. Dependencies on live applications and interfaces made the migration particularly demanding, as did the goal of keeping downtime to a minimum.

I was responsible for the migration strategy and technical architecture, designed the mapping between the different data models, and automated the required transformation and migration steps. My work also included validating the migrated data, analysing discrepancies, and planning the cutover with a safeguarded rollback strategy.

The migration was completed with very little downtime. The data was fully transferred and validated while existing interfaces continued to operate reliably. The new data model also created a stronger foundation for performance, scalability, and the application’s ongoing development.

Automated user management between Microsoft Entra ID and Mendix

Anonymised case study · Identity and systems integration

User management for a Mendix application was to be moved from manual processes to a standardised integration with Microsoft Entra ID. In addition to provisioning users automatically, changes had to be transferred reliably between the systems and differing data models had to be mapped consistently.

I designed the integration architecture and implemented or extended the SCIM module for the Mendix application. My responsibilities included creating, updating, deactivating, and deleting users, mapping and validating attributes, and analysing errors and compatibility issues. I also supported testing and rollout and produced the technical documentation.

The integration automates the complete user lifecycle, reduces manual administration, and improves the maintainability of the identity integration. Changes in Microsoft Entra ID can therefore be represented in the Mendix application in a controlled and traceable way.
